David Oliver Tipton, age 83 of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025. A graduate of South High School who went on to have a long career in the jewelry business. He was a loving husband, father and dada who will be greatly missed.
Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Gayle White Tipton; sisters, Joella McCall and June Davenport; father and mother, Oliver and Mildred Tipton.
He is survived by son, Jeffrey David Tipton; daughter, Stacey Evelyn Tipton Burchfield (Russell); precious grandchildren, Jeremy David Burchfield (Lexi) and Hannah Leigh Burchfield; great-granddaughter, Evie Burchfield; brother, Richard “Dickie” Tipton; brothers-in-law, Van White and Paul White; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will meet at 12:45 PM for a 1:00 PM graveside service Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike.
