Deannie Adams

Deannie Adams went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 15, 2025. Deannie was a devoted wife and caregiver, loving mother, and adoring grandmother who loved chatting and laughing with friends and family.

She was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and graduated from East High School in 1959. After meeting the love of her life, Bob Adams, and marrying him in 1962, she worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for many years in their payroll department. After retirement, she had careers as a sales rep and a pharmacy technician, among others. In addition to being an avid reader and an amateur pianist, she was also a great cook who always wanted to make sure everyone was well fed. She spent many Friday evenings watching Bearden High School football games as a band parent when her children were students there, and she always enjoyed seeing the Vols play football and basketball. A woman of deep faith, she was a devout member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church and an active member in their Sunday School class. Deannie always greeted people with a smile, and many were charmed by her grace and wit.

Deannie is preceded in death by her parents, Fitzhugh and Lillian Brown; brother, Robert Brown; sisters, Edna Rose Webb and Virginia Lee Tuck; and dear husband. She is survived by her children, Rob Adams (Seattle) and Regina Velázquez; grandchildren, Serafina and Xavi Velázquez; and many nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful to Smoky Mountain Hospice and all who provided care and compassion to Deannie over the past few years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Berry Highland Memorial on Kingston Pike, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 p.m. Interment is on Friday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
