

Arrangements Dorothy “Dot” L. McMahan age 88, passed away peacefully at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home on January 28, 2016. Dorothy was passionate about The Church of God World Missions where she always gave sacrificially. She was a former North Knoxville business owner where she owned and operated a dress store called the Cancellation Shop. She continued her career in retail clothing where she worked for Millers, Proffits, and Belk, where she retired. Her father, Edwin Culpepper, was a Minister for the Church of God and a State Overseer. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Mayford H. McMahan; ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Pipin (Stan); son, Mike McMahan (Debi); brother, FJ (Cotton) Culpepper; grandsons, Kevin Pipin, Jerrod McMahan (Tosha), Jacob McMahan (Jeannette), granddaughter, Jessica Brennan (Dana), six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Parkwest Church on Middlebrook Pike with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Gerald McGinnis officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery for a graveside service in the mausoleum chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Park West Church missions.
