Dustin Erik York, age 42 of Seymour passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025. Dustin had an incredible, dedicated work ethic. He only worked two places his entire life starting at age 16. He worked at NASCAR Speedpark working his way up to almost every position, and then he worked at Wilderness at the Smokies. He didn’t mind manual labor at work or at home, and he made memories while doing so. He had an incredible sports knowledge, encyclopedia of a brain with stats, drafts, general sports history, and if there was a Tennessee Vols game on I’m sure the whole neighborhood could hear him hooting and hollering at the TV. Chanting IT’s GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!! He even listened to it in his car if he wasn’t home, or phone if he was away from his car and home.
Dustin never cared for being formal, he accepted people has they were and anyone that came into our home was forever welcomed. He saw the good in everyone and looked to the positive in every situation. He was a dedicated father, compassionate husband, and amazing friend whom many of us looked up to. He will forever be missed but not forgotten.
He was preceded in death by parents, David and Dorothy York. Dustin is survived by wife, Tabitha York; 3 children, David York, Wyatt York and Kyrie York; brother, Darryl (Michelle) York; nieces, Abby and Catie York; numerous special cousins and family members. Family will receive friends Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 E. Simpson Road, Knoxville. Family and friends will meet Monday, February 24, 2025 at Berry Highland South Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service. Condolences may be offered at www.berryhighlandsouth.com
