Eddie M Byrd

Byrd, Eddie, age 68, of Knoxville, lost his courageous and long fight with cancer on May 25, 2011. Preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen Ferguson Byrd and Thomas Walker Byrd; brothers, Charles, Tommy and Jerry Byrd; mother-in-law, Lucy Elizabeth Ward. An avid pet lover of his two pets, Abby and Cokey. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and was a huge fan of Westerns, especially John Wayne. Survivors include: Loving wife of 48 years, Mary Ward Byrd, daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mack Echel; son, Ricky Byrd; grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Megan Eckel, and Kristen Eckel; and future great-grandson, Bently Cox. Other survivors include father-in-law, Willam Ward Sr. and wife Helen; sister-in-laws, Helen and Roy Monger, Barbara and Roy Titlow, Jr., Darlene and David Hickson, Jr.; and brother-in-laws, Sam Ward, Tim and Oralee Ward, Arthur and Caron Ward and Ronnie and Sandra Ward; and several nieces and nephew. Family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, Monday, May 30, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Richie Turner and Rev.
