Elayne Alice Shields Shields-Bryant

Shields-Bryant, Elayne-age 51, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2013 after a brave battle with cancer. Elayne was born on February 12, 1962. Her life accomplishments were many, earning a Business/Communication degree; a Master of Science, Management Information Systems; a Master of Business Administration and a Doctorate of Education. She owned and operated Shields Integrated Solutions, Inc. and taught at several Universities in PA before moving to Hays, KS where she taught Accounting and Information Systems at Fort Hays State University. Elayne was author of six publications associated with Information Systems. In 2005 Elayne married Stephen Bryant and later moved to Seymour, TN where Elayne’s passion for quilting and sewing became her focus. She opened Exquisite Quilting helping many others to quilt and sew. She brought comfort to Chemo patients by making them quilts through “Angel of Hope Comfort Quilts” assisted by quilting friends Tobie Reynolds, Fran Flotard and Carmen Solomon. Elayne is preceded in death by parents, Elaine and Leo Shields and maternal grandmother, Ann Claus. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Bryant; stepson Todd Bryant and wife Cassie of KS; brother, Brian Shields and wife Judy of Idaho; sister, Kathleen Shields; brother, Kevin Shields and wife Toyya; brother, Alan Shields and wife Cathy; sister, Valerie Shields; sister, LeeAnn Stotsky and husband Derek; five nieces, one nephew and two great nephews all living in PA. Elayne enjoyed sharing her interest and talent in sewing by making gifts for family members, friends and quilts for chemo patients. She left wonderful memories and will be missed by all.
