

Elizabeth Ann Heisner Evans (“Liz”), age 67, of Maryville passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Maryville, Tennessee. Liz taught school for 32 years for the Haywood County Board of Education and, after her retirement, operated a business as a real estate appraiser. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Heisner, of Pinckneyville, Illinois. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Robert B. Evans, her son, Matthew J. Evans and wife Amy of Knoxville, Tennessee, and by her daughter, Rachel E. Blakeley and husband Benjamin W. Blakeley of Marietta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Zebadiah W. Evans, Margaret E. Blakeley, Isabel R. Evans and B. William Blakeley; her sister, Kathryn J. Astrack of St. Louis, Missouri; her brothers, William C. Heisner, Jr. of Casper, Wyoming; George T. Heisner of Pinckneyville, Illinois; and Harry M. Heisner of Millington, Tennessee. Liz is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews across the United States. The Evans family will receive friends Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 510 W. Main Street, Knoxville, Tennessee, with a funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, Tennessee.
