Ellen Hurst

Hurst, Ellen Davis (93) of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord Friday, August 28, 2015. She is preceded in death by husband, Raymond Hurst; brother, Elden Tolliver; sisters, Della Maggard, Zelphia Krause, Vivian Morgan. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Keck, Gayle Evans; son, Dennis Davis; step daughter, Brenda Kranse; step sons, George, David, and Jim Davis; grandsons, Alan, Bruce, and Richard Todd Keck, Mark and Dean Treadway; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ellen was a charter member of Dante Church of God. She taught youth and adult Sunday school classes, Ladies Ministries President, Outreach and Food Ministry. Ellen was co-owner of Halls Freezo for 28 years, a popular fast food restaurant in the area, where she helped many young people get started spiritually and financially. Family will receive friends Monday, August 31st from 6-8pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home 2300 Adair Drive with funeral service to follow at 8pm. Service to be officiated by Rev. David Snyder and Rev. Robert Holmes. Interment will be held Tuesday, September 1st at 10am at Berry Highland South on Simpson Road.
