Eugene Clark Freeman Jr.

Eugene Clark Freeman Jr., age 76, of Hendersonville, Tennessee crossed over to join his family and Creator on Saturday November 17, 2018. Eugene was born February 19, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Eugene was Executive Vice President of a major corporation before starting his own business with his wife and partner of 41 years, Martha Evelyn. He was an avid golfer, loved showing antique cars, boating, fishing and especially loved his border collie, Buddy. Eugene and Martha Evelyn would have been celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary and her birthday on Thanksgiving Day. Eugene gave Martha Evelyn her anniversary and birthday cards two weeks before his death. He wrote, "We have always had a special bond. I love you Honey!" He courageously battled cancer at home with Martha Evelyn as his loving caretaker for 11 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Clark Freeman, Sr. and mother, Nila Smith Freeman. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Martha Evelyn; son, Mark; grandson, Christopher Mark; several other family members; cousins and close friends. Eugene was especially proud of his grandson, Christopher Mark who is completing his last year of medical school. A visitation for Eugene will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. A burial will occur Monday, November 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The service will be officiated by long-time friend, Dr. Leonard Markham.
