Fannie Mae Key, age 79, of Knoxville, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. She was a long-time member of Tarklin Valley Baptist Church where she was able to return and worship after a lengthy illness. Fannie worked as a seamstress for Levi Strauss for 25 years and later retired from Bike Athletics after 16 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, helping others and being a Grandmother. Fannie loved to bowl in her younger years with a bowling league.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Joseph Key Jr; daughter, Kristy Michelle Shinlever; grandson, Noah David Ott; father, James Parrish and mother, Mary Ruth Tallent; sister, Wanda Walsh; brothers, Harold Tallent and Bo Parrish.
Fannie is survived by daughters, Kim (Randy) Byrd, Karen (David) Ott; grandsons, Randy (Kristi) Byrd II, Joshua (Meagan) Byrd, Christian Shinlever, Isaac (Zoe) Ott, Jonathan Shinlever; great-grandchildren, Elishia and Jamie Byrd, Madilynn and Weston Ott;
The family will receive friends Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the chapel of Berry Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 W. Simpson Road, Knoxville with a service to follow at 7:00pm officiated by Rev. Dennis Robinson. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, North Wildwood Road, Maryville for an 11:00am Interment Service officiated by Josh Byrd. Serving as Pallbearers: Christian Shinlever, Randy Byrd II, Joshua Byrd, Isaac Ott, Jonathan Shinlever and David Shinlever.
