

Sanderson, Jr., Floyd Clifton (Bud) of Knoxville passed away February 21, 2011 at St. Mary’s. He was the son of Floyd C., Sr. and Gwendolyn Curtis Sanderson. He was born February 27, 1931 in Knoxville, TN. He was a member of Holston Baptist Church and was retired from Container Corporation of America after many years of employment. Bud was inducted into the United States Army in 1951 during the Korean War and received an Honorable Discharge in 1953. He was preceded in death by those he loved dearly in is life: his wife, Barbara Jean Goddard Sanderson; parents, Floyd C. and Gwendolyn C. Sanderson; sisters, Priscilla Mae Sanderson Cox and Oneita Bell Sanderson Smith; brothers-in-law, Roy Henderlight and Jack Cox; nephew, Michael Martin; and nieces, Debbie Smith and Brenda Smith Walker. Bud is survived by his little family: Christy, Matt, Kenly and Ty Howard; sisters: Frances (Fran) Sanderson Weaver (Fred), Jean Sanderson Henderlight (Gene) and Elizabeth Sanderson Martin (Maurice); sister-in-law, Betty Cox; as well as many nieces and nephews and special niece, Donna Henderlight Arp (Chris). He is also survived by best friend, Fred Weaver, Sr., who always enjoyed golfing, attending Vols games and fishing with Bud and who stood by Bud’s side until his death. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews: Freddy Weaver, Jimmy Henderlight, Jeff Henderlight, Jerry Martin, Joel Martin, Josh and Scotty Henderlight, Chris Arp, Tony Harrison and Matt Howard. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Thursday, February 24th at Holston Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Larry Young and Rev. Bruce Marston officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, February 25th at Eastview Memorial Gardens.
