

Frank Harold Pittman, 73, of Strawberry Plains unexpectedly went home to be with the lord on August 5th, 2024. Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His family was his favorite part of life, especially getting to play outside with his grandchildren and decorate for the holidays with everyone around. Frank’s main passion in life was cars, which included racing and being a mechanic. He began his mechanic career in the United States Air Force in 1969 as an Aviation Mechanic. After 4 years serving in the military, Frank returned to Strawberry Plains, TN. He began racing his beloved 1962 Ford Fairlane, Lil Snake, in 1982. Frank continued racing regularly until 1989. He continued mechanic work for the rest of his life.
Frank is preceded in death by father Fred Pittman, mother Vivian Lewis, stepmother Flora Pittman, brother Johnny Black, and brother Stevie Black.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Charlene Pittman of 49 years; brothers Fred E. Pittman and David (Cindy) Pittman; children Frances (Daniel) Loveday, Tabitha (Lonnie) King, and Daniel Pittman; grandchildren Charles Loveday, Sarah (Michael) Burross, Noah McElfresh, Marissa (Michael) Jeffries, Katelyn (Joseph) Spencer, Savannah Lane, Hannah King, and Sarah King; great grandchildren Kendall Bryant, Christian McElfresh-Stitt, Everleigh Jeffries, Luke Burross, Jakoby Jeffries, Nevaeh King, and Harlow King, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
A visitation for Frank will be held Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. A graveside service with military honors will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 at 8:30 AM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
