Frankie D Walker, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Frankie was born an only child in Bryson City, NC in 1926. After graduating from Western Carolina Teaching College she moved to Knoxville where she had a 37 year teaching career with Knox County Schools. She was married to J.T. Walker for 72 years and they raised two sons, David and Bobby in Farragut.
Frankie and J.T. were active members of Concord United Methodist Church where Frankie was a member of the Lydia Circle. Frankie was an active Bridge player and avid Lady Vols fan.
Frankie is survived by daughters -in-law, Mary Nelle Osborne and Lana Walker, granddaughters, Ashley Walker Pennell (Jamie) and Brooke Walker as well as numerous extended Walker family members.
She was preceded in death by husband, J.T. Walker and sons, David and Robert "Bobby" Walker.
Frankie's Memorial Service will be Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00pm at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Trotter officiating. Committal Service will immediately follow at Berry Highland West Cemetery, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932. In lieu of flowers donations and memorials should be made to Knox County Schools Clothing Center.
