Franklin Pendleton, beloved son of the late Nora Belle Pendleton Pridemore and Charles Lloyd Pendleton, passed from this life at the age of 84, a man of quiet strength, deep purpose, and unwavering love for his family and country.
A proud graduate of Karns High School, Franklin served honorably in the United States Navy, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. His dedication earned him numerous commendations and reflected the high standard he held for himself in service to his country. A man of steadfast Christian faith, his beliefs were the compass by which he lived. He was also a loyal and active member of AMVETS Tennessee, where he cherished the camaraderie, shared stories, and lasting friendships of his fellow veterans.
As a father, grandfather, and friend, Franklin was the kind of steady, dependable presence you could always count on. He found joy in fishing the lakes and rivers of Tennessee, casting lines from docks during his time in Pensacola, Florida, and gathering loved ones around the grill, where he had perfected his craft. He was known to appreciate a cold Busch beer and a good cigarette, and he lived life fully and on his own terms, with warmth, laughter, and no apologies.
He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Charles Pendleton Jr., Wayne Pendleton, John Pendleton, and Jack Pendleton.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Lisa Yates, Suzanne White, Becky Drury, Sandy Tischler, Shawn Flanders, Kim Laforge, and Rena Arwood; his cherished daughter-in-spirit, Claudette Simon; brothers, Pete (Sue) Pendleton, Pat Pendleton, and James (Jeanna) Pendleton; sisters, Judy (Donnie) Clemons and Nancy (Parvin) Woods; and a beloved circle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of his life. His strength, warmth, and unwavering presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
