Fred Ernest Staley Sr.,86, passed peacefully on January 15th at Life Care Center of Morgan County. Fred was an entrepreneur and innovator. Starting on his own in 1972, his dimensional stone business grew and prospered, and the results can be seen in homes and skyscrapers, allowing him to travel the world. Fred enjoyed being outdoors, he enjoyed golf, hunting, and the lake. He loved to tell stories about Meade’s Quarry and his travels. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Tom Staley; mother, Hannah Lawson Staley (Lee) Williams; brothers, Frank (Mary) Staley, Bill Staley.
He is survived by his wife, Mitsuko Staley; sons, Fred Staley Jr., Richard (Raquel)Staley, Brian (Suzanne) Staley, and Jeff Staley: grandchildren, Chris (Leslie) Staley, Ethan (Shelby) Staley, Tyler (Jada) Staley, Hannah Staley, Keith (Kayla) Staley, and Scott Staley; Sister, Glenda (Bob) Tucker; sister-in-law Jerrie Staley; 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather to honor the memory of Fred, on Monday, January 26th 2026, at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with a visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm and a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm, following the service family and friends will go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, for a committal service, Lance Gammon to officiate the services.
