

H M Bill Freels, age 87, of Knoxville passed away November 18, 2015. Mr. Freels was born September 2, 1928 in Morgan County. He was the son of the late Joe Edward Freels and Lucy Elizabeth Human Freels. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: J.L., Charles, R.D., Dudley, Joe, and Frank Freels and sister Betty Freels Rodgers. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Ruby Armes Freels of Knoxville; daughter Gloria Freels McElroy and Doug of Knoxville; son Mike Freels of Knoxville; granddaughter Merritt McElroy of Knoxville; brother Paul Freels of Hendersonville, TN. Mr. Freels was a veteran of the United States Air Force and 33rd Degree Freemason. Affectionately called the “Candy Man”, he was an employee of both Brock and Brach Candy and for many years operated his own food brokerage business. In retirement, he enjoyed farming and raising cattle at his beloved farm “Magic Mountain”. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at First Baptist Concord; Farragut, TN. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
