Wright, Howard Bryan 85, passed away at his home Monday, June 11, 2018. He was a proud veteran of the USMC 1st Recon Co. Division and a Purple Heart recipient of the Korean Conflict. Howard was a 50 year member of Kerbela Shriners, 50 year member of Tate Springs Lodge #438, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was of the Baptist faith. Howard was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Alberta Wright; brothers, James and Gary Wright. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janice Wright; daughter and son-in-law, Jan Douglas and Tommy Rowe; granddaughter, Samantha Douglas all of Knoxville, TN; brother, Charles Wright of Russellville, TN; sisters, Betty Wright of Knoxville, TN, Frances Jennings of Kingsport, TN; brother-in-law, Tim Spears of Lenoir City, TN; many nieces, nephews and friends; special friend, Roy Wilder of Knoxville, TN. The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice and staff for their compassionate care and dedication to Howard. A special thank you to Debbie Palmer, caregiver to Howard, for her dedication, loyalty and love shown during his illness. Family will receive friends Thursday, June 14th from 5-7pm at Berry Highland West on Sherrill Blvd with funeral service at 7pm. Rev. Bob Gamble officiating. Burial will take place Friday, June 15th at 10am at Berry Highland West, meeting at the graveside.
