Inez French Turner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on July 26, 1931, to Ole and French Clark in the Binfield Community of Maryville, Tennessee, Inez was raised surrounded by the love of family and the natural beauty of East Tennessee.
Known to many as "Pid," Inez touched the hearts of everyone she met with her kindness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit. She spent her life as a devoted wife and mother, always prioritizing the needs of her family. Her presence was a source of comfort, joy, and laughter for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Inez was preceded in death by her loving husband, Carl "Odra" Turner, and her daughters, Kathy Strader and Jenny Turner. Inez is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Debbie Turner. Her grandchildren Lindsay Symon, Aaron Turner, and Katie Strader, as well as their families will carry her love and her laughter in their hearts as they remember their 'Mammaw' so dearly.
One of Inez’s greatest joys was hosting family and friends at the cabin in Townsend, where countless memories were made. She and her husband spent many years making honey and bee-keeping, a labor of love that they did together. Inez was also a devoted member of West Haven Baptist Church, where her faith and love for her church family were evident. She loved traveling, especially if it was to different gospel singings she enjoyed.
The family welcomes friends to a Visitation on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4pm-5pm at Weaver Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to follow at 5:30pm. Family and friends will meet at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11am for a Graveside Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knoxville Young Life in her honor.
