James Thomas Roach

Roach, James T. (Jim), age 82, of Knoxville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 26, 2011 while being lovingly cared for by the staff at UT Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army. Jim worked for Walter Montgomery and later for R.L. Slusher as a draftsman. He was a member of Second United Methodist Church but attended in recent years Grace Baptist. Preceded in death by his parents Nena Mae Thomas and Burl Roach. Survivors include wife of 45 years, Betty Wolbach Roach; cousins, Dale Thomas of West Palm Beach, FL., Gerry Fowler of Knoxville and Margaret Wager of Galesburg Il.; brother-in-law, Hurbert E. Wolbach of Birmingham, AL. and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 8 P.M.; Rev. Michael Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11 A.M. interment service with Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating.
