James "Jim" Edward Sparks, age 81, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024. Jim graduated from South High School and began service in the U.S.A.F. as a communications interceptor. He returned to Knoxville to marry his high school sweetheart and begin a career in sales and management. Jim returned to civil service as a U.S. postal carrier from which he retired to enjoy more time for hobbies such as golf and reading.
Preceded in passing by his wife, Melanie Jane Sparks; parents, Earl Allen and Dorothy Anderson Sparks; brother, David Earl Sparks.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, LeAnn Michelle Sparks; sister, Barbara (George) Hilton; grandchildren, Brady, Cayce, and Colby Nutt and many loving family members and lifelong friends.
Family and friends will gather to honor Jim at Woodlawn Cemetery for a graveside service on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 with Dr. Alan Smith to officiate the service.
