James Eugene Underwood

UNDERWOOD, JAMES (JIMMY) EUGENE – age 81 of Knoxville passed away at home February 16, 2011. Born September 30, 1929 in Cleveland, Tennessee. Jim was a retired Quality Assurance Specialist, United States Department of Defense, other employment included Magnavox- Jefferson City, TN, Brunswick Corporation- Marion, VA, Aeronautical Draftsman at: S-50 Oak Ridge, TN, and a self employed business owner, Greeneville, TN. Jim was a U.S. Veteran with the U.S. Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant. He was an airplane mechanic and received the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Preceded in death by Mother; Mary Elizabeth Underwood-Fritts, Father; R.D. Burrell, Grandfather; Cirby Eugene Underwood, Grandmother; Betty Dunlap Underwood, Beloved Aunt; Grace Underwood and Uncle; Homer Underwood. Survived by loving wife of 56 years Dorothy Lillian Underwood, Children; James Mark Underwood (Susan), Michael Anthony Underwood (Cheryl), Jamie Christine Underwood, Grandchildren; Matthew James Underwood, Seth Lansford Underwood, Lillian Faith Underwood-Iranipour, Cousin; Jane Underwood McSpadden (Milton).
