

Jamie Marguerite Gillenwaters Blankenship, age 94, passed away on November 28, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Gillenwaters and Marguerite Turner Gillenwaters; her loving husband of seventy-one years, James Lynn Blankenship, Jr.; brother, James Edward Gillenwaters, Jr.; and son in law, Charles Edward Williams, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Lynn Williams, Maria Theresa Schettler (HC); sons, Bruce Albert Blankenship (Angelique) and James Lynn Blankenship Ill; sister, Mary G. Smith; brother, Richard Gillenwaters (Willie Mae); sister-in-law, Jody Gillenwaters. She has four grandsons; Christopher Ryan Schettler, Charles Edward Williams Ill, Jordan Christian Schettler, and Bruce Albert Blankenship, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Olivia Lynn Shuirr. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren; Kaleb Schettler, Liam Shubert, Soleil Shuirr, Lukas Schettler, Quinn Schettler, Luna Shuirr, Anthony Mangome and Joseph Mangome.
She graduated from Central High School in 1949. While serving together as library assistants at Central High School, she met the love of her life affectionately known as "Jimmy Lynn". Her higher education was all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Before having a family, she worked as a librarian at UTK.
Her hobbies included sewing, gardening and working as a church volunteer on many committees as well as in the church library. Her true loves were her faith and precious family.
