

Jane A. Hendrix Lewis of the Hardin Valley Community, born April 25, 1956, passed away January 20, 2026, at UT Hospital surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Norma Sue Mays Herron (Alvin) and Thomas Bruce Hendrix (Jenny); sister, Gail Denette Hendrix.
Jane was a longtime member of Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She retired from Hardin Valley Elementary Schools as manager of the cafeteria. To say she enjoyed the kids was an understatement. She loved to travel to Virginia and spend time with her daughter, Erica and son-in-law, Desmond and she loved her son, Kevin unconditionally, loved her beach trips with her Beach Buddies and loved to spend time with her family, as holidays were always a big affair in her family.
Jane was strong and honest, fierce and devoted to those close to her, was funny and a joy to be around.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Erica Michelle Lewis Cahill (Desmond) and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild in August; son, Kevin Michael Lewis; twin sister, Janet E. Stooksbury; sister, Karen G. Hendrix; niece, Cindy Nabors Rhoden (Wes), niece, Dianna Nabors Hutsell (Adam); Great-nieces, Emma Rhoden, Hannah Rhoden, Laney Hutsell and Great-nephew, Mason Hutsell.
Honorary sister, Patsy J. Wise. Best friend, Brenda Huffman; beloved dog, Copper.
The family will receive friends at Marietta Church 4-6 pm Wednesday with the service to follow at 6 pm. Reverand Randall Mayfield officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am Thursday at Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Pallbearers: Kevin Michael Lewis, Desmond Cahill, Carroll Ferguson, Jake Stafford, Ryan Murphey, Mason Hutsell, Adam Hutsell, Wes Rhoden and Dwain Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers, Bob Cahill, Don Rairdon, Larry Hutsell and Joe Gresham.
The family would like to thank the Hardin Valley Community and The Marietta Church family for all the prayers, texts, calls and show of support as well as the staff at UT Hospital and Palliative care team.
