Jerry Sherman Kear

Jerry Sherman Kear, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 4, 2017 after a brief illness. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was the proud owner of VMW Automated Apparel Equipment and held two patents for his equipment design.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Sherman and Grace Ownby Kear; his brother, Jackie and sister, Sue.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carole Brooks Kear; his daughter, Cynthia Kear and his son Preston (Lisa) Kear; his adored granddaughters, Sarah Louise and Mary-Elizabeth Kear; his sisters, Linda (Steve) and Marjorie (Cecil); his brothers, Johnnie (Rose), Jeff (Maria); several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00pm in the Westwood Chapel of Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00am at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Tennessee Children's Hospital.
