Jerry Lynn Snyder, Sr., age 66, of South Knoxville, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was a faithful member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church, a devoted husband, wonderful father and papaw, a great brother and good friend to so many. He loved being outdoors and especially going fishing with his wife Janice and friends, watching football, playing his banjo and most of all being with his precious grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by son, Jerry Lynn Snyder, Jr.; parents, John and Johnnie Snyder; brother, Kenny Snyder; nephews, David, Kim and Josh; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Snyder; Father and Mother- In-law, Rev. James and Maxine Thurman.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Janice; daughter, Becky (Wayne) Ratledge; son, John (Stephanie) Snyder; precious grandchildren, Jeremy (Brooke) Snyder, Jessica Snyder, Lance Ratledge, Taylor and Kash Snyder; sister, Peggy (Jerry) Ginn; brothers, Carl, Harvey (Sue), Benny (Judy) Snyder; special sister-in-law, Marlene (David) White and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. Reverend Jerry Crye officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday, October 1, 2021 at Mt. Olive Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment service.
Pallbearers: Sonny Lindsey, Brad Matthews, Brad Snyder, Jason McGill, Robbie Cooper and Tim Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers: Ernie McGill, Steve Loposser, Bobby Joe Norris, Archie Culvahouse, Gary (Butter) Hubbs, Mike Johnson, Sr., Rusty Snyder and Phil Webb.
