Jim Herd, age 71, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Jim was a proud brother, father, papaw and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated friend to many. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. He loved to teach and instill his values in his family. Jim was a Master Mason and a member of Bright Hope Lodge in Knoxville.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Dorothy Herd; brother, Tommy Herd; and son, Keith Herd.
Jim is survived by children, David and Kelley Myers, Scott and Jerrica Herd and David Brewster; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Debbie Herd; grandchildren, Spud Myers, Allie and Stephen Allen, Spencer and Jaimie Herd, Ryan Herd, Stanton Herd, Darby Murabito, Cole Murabito and Levi Brewster; great-grandchild, Tyson Herd; nieces, Misty and Scott Stiff and Lee Ann and Mike Hall; and many special friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. officiated by L.B. Steele. Family and friends will gather in Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10:45 A.M. for an 11:00 A.M. interment.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Herd, Spud Myers, Ryan Herd, Stanton Herd, Cole Murabito, Scott Herd and Roy Herd.
