John Wayne Lawson

John Wayne Lawson, age 59, of Knoxville, TN passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, October, 24, 2021. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching Law & Order, NCIS and "arguing" with his cats. More than anything, he loved being a father and a papaw.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Diane Rogers Lawson; mother, Margaret Lawson; nephew, "Little Rick"; sister, Linda Masters; brothers, Mark and Charles Lawson.

John is survived by sons, Jonathan (Samantha) Lawson, Josh Lawson; daughter, April Lawson;

father, Bill Lawson; sisters, Pat Lynn, Debra (Danny) Tipton, Carol (Bob) McVey, Tonja Peel and Robin (Mark) Stallings; brother, Ricky Lawson; grandchildren, Makayla, Ashlyn, Colt, Kyle and Alyiah Lawson; nephews, Rusty and Justin Lawson, Eric Sharp, Matt Peel, Jamie Burnette, Danny Sharp, Billy Gass; nieces, Shelly Crandel, Danielle Tipton, Ashley Hutson, Pam Lynn, Shannon Lynn; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the chapel of McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37924 with a service to follow officiated by Rev. Jared Raby. Family and friends will meet at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:30 am to go in procession to Caledonia Cemetery, Ruggles Ferry Pike, Knoxville for an 11:00am Interment Service.
