Selvidge, Johnny W., age 73, passed away peacefully at his home on October 16th 2013. Johnny was born on June 22, 1940 in Loudon, Tennessee. He retired from the US Army and the National Guard after 25 years of dedicated service. Johnny was preceded in death by: wife Ruby Arp Selvidge, parents Hazel J. Nix and William Selvidge, and brother Roy Selvidge. Survivors include: daughter Tanya Strange and friend Kevin Mackerson, Sr, sister Marie S. Johnson, grandchildren: Chasity Strange, Angel Strange-Hensley, Lailey Strange, and Kevin Mackerson (Lil Man), great-grandchild John Hensley, Jr. Special thanks to his favorite aunt Janie Collins, as well as his friends and neighbors: Reva Highland, Mike Duffer, Cathy Cunningham, Greg Faulk, Steve Day, and Andrew Graybeal. The family would also like to thank the Tennova Hospital Staff and Tennova Hospice nurses and staff. Family and friends will meet on Tuesday at 1:30PM at East Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, Lyons View Pike, for graveside services with Rev. Eddie Myers officiating.
