Joseph M. Walters, age 93, of Maryville, passed away at home Tuesday, January 10, 2023. He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joe was a Korean war veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Katie; 1 brother and 2 sisters also preceded. Joe is survived by son, David (Shirley) Walters; daughter, Kimberly (Stephen) Hannah; granddaughters, Tiffany Peavley and Ashley (Eric) Tindell; grandson, S. Cole (Katie) Hannah; great-grandchildren, Noah, Maggie, Jonah, Easton and Lucas; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 8:30 am at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Hwy, Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating.
