Lillie Marie Wilson, age 88, left us to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Also waiting to greet her was her Mother, Nova Lee Morgan; Father, Sam Wilson; Step-Father, Charlie Morgan; Infant Sister, Mary Ellen Wilson; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Shirley and Bill Butts; Step-Brother, Jimmy Morgan; Grandparents, Robert and Kizzie Ellen Reese; and her Special Kitties, Buttercup, Precious, and BB.
Marie is survived by her beloved Sister, Faye Wilson Rust; Nephews and Nieces, Barry and Claudia Maples, Lisa, Cathy and Chris, Kelly and Robin Maples and Callie, Lori, David and Morgan Ingram, Susan and Steve Derer and children, and Sandy Edgar and children; and her beloved cat Bo.
Marie's life was one full of wonder and many accomplishments. At age 16 she was in Savannah, Georgia welding on Naval battleships. At age 17 she had security clearance to work for the Atomic Energy Commission. She then worked for General Electric in Cincinnati. She drove a school bus, and also became a private detective in Nashville, as well as becoming an award-winning songwriter with two gold records and twelve number one songs on the Billboard Charts. Most of all, she was a daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.
In addition, she loved all animals and saved the life of many cats. She fought a long hard battle, but now she is playing in God's band.
Thanks go out to those who provided care to Marie - Janet Love; Robin and Kelly Maples; Dr. Monte Biggs and Anita; Dr. Aaron Smythe and staff; Amedysis Home Health Care; Right At Home; and Caris.
