Linda was born in Oak Ridge on March 18, 1945, to Elnora King Brown and Kenneth Franklin Brown. She wrote for the school paper at Young High School and graduated in the Top 10 of her class. She received a degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee where she became a Vol for life. Linda worked for Delta Air Lines before marrying Sam Patterson of Maryville, TN and together they had three children. She devoted her time to raising her children and enjoyed teaching Sunday School at New Prospect Presbyterian Church, playing piano, singing, crafting, and studying the Bible. She never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing the Love of Jesus with everyone she met.
Linda is survived by her children (spouses): Samalynn (Derek) Powell, Lori (Marcello) Loureiro & Boyd(Cindy) Patterson; her eight grandchildren: Matthew & Gavin Patterson, Victor, Lucas, Charisa & Noah Loureiro, Kaylee & Kyler Powell, and beloved nephew, Tommy Brown.
She was preceded in death by her former husband; parents and her brother, K. Sam Brown.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920 with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Gerry Anders of New Prospect Church.
