BOWLING, LORA V., beloved mother – age 95, went to be with the Lord at 7am, Friday, November 9, 2012 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Deward M. Bowling; mother and father, Alice and Lonzo Whaley, brother, Ben Whaley; sisters, Edna Lowe, Zora Wallace, Blanch Holbert, Hazel Smith, and Lois Hoskins. Survived by her son, Ronald Bowling; daughter, Wanda Makrakis and husband George; grandchildren, James Makrakis and Gregory Makrakis and wife Windy; great grandchildren, Nicholas Makrakis and Christopher Makrakis; sister, Cecile Romines. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. The funeral service will follow at 8pm, Pastor Ev Robertson of French Broad Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery, Monday, November 12, 2012 at 12noon for a graveside service.
