This year began with sad news about you. It would end with worse. 

I learned you were gone at a Noche Buena party in Miami, coincidentally reflecting in that very moment on how I’d made room for new family, now that yours pushed me away. Never having blamed you for rejecting my note, my first reaction to the news was cursing the person who poisoned you against me. 

Goodbye, prima. You didn’t deserve all the disappointment, the betrayals, the never-ending pain. I choose to remember you as you appeared in my first memories: luminous, beautiful, and looking ahead unflinchingly towards a life undiminished. I love you. 

Darlene and I would like to wish Manny and Christy hope, healing and peace in this their time of grief and loss.  Luisa was indeed a special person to both of us.  I have been thinking about what I should put here...  Nothing I could write comes close to how much I miss Luisa.  She was an integral part of my day.  I could not have helped our clients without her help she was a blessing to all who knew her.  I will miss her deeply.  The McNabb Family is the poorer since she had to leave us.

To know Luisa was to know kindness, service, and a giving heart. She loved what she did at McNabb, and her absence is greatly felt.  She cared for everyone she worked with and always went above and beyond for anyone she encountered. She was one of a kind, and I am lucky to have known her. Her memory will live on in our hearts. 

Oh Luisa, what a beautiful soul you were. I will forever miss you! Thank you for everything you did for me. I will be praying so hard for your family. Heaven gained such a beautiful angel. Love you and miss you already. 💔

Luisa was a stickler for doing things right at the McNabb Center, but when she got to know you as a patient, her kindness and gentleness was above and beyond. She knew my family by name and I loved watching her interact with the younger children, giving them coloring pages and speaking to them so kindly. I know her face will be missed, not just by her co-workers, but by everyone who walked through the door at McNabb.

We love you Lisa. You will be forever missed. We will always have you in our hearts.

I literally can not put into words how I felt about you, you went through the most trying, happy, difficult, and tiresome years of my life with me and always helped me keep an open mind and helped me to try not to stress over little things. Mcnabb may have brought us together but nothing could ever come between the friendship we had. I miss you more than words could EVER describe but I’m trying to find the peace in knowing that you are no longer in pain and can now watch over us. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. I am extremely saddened to learn of Lisa’s death. I am  praying for Lisa and All the family.  Lisa was thought about often  at Miami Cerebral Palsy.  We mourned her loss when she relocated to Tennessee. She was such a joy to have at our agency. A truly delightful person. Smart, funny, hard worker, so organized and efficient. And lots of talent! Always looking for ways to improve things and support all the staff. I enjoyed speaking with her annually when driving through Tennessee.

To the family, may memories of happy times spent together help you through this terribly painful, sad and difficult time.

I always loved working with Luisa. She was always offering to help me in any way she could. I will miss her terribly.

I am so sorry to hear of Luisa’s passing. I enjoyed seeing Luisa almost daily for five years during her employment at the McNabb Center. Luisa demonstrated care for others in her support of McNabb Center staff and clients. I loved her sense of humor and passion for her work. It was a blessing to my life to be able to call Luisa my friend. I will be praying for her family during this difficult time.
