

Mabel Clara Dixon arrived in her heavenly home at 9:50 am Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Mabel was born November 20, 1921 in Horatio, AR, to Hubert Browning and Suzie Slaton Browning. She moved with her husband Robert (Bob) Dixon to Knoxville, TN in 1941.
Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Hubert Jr and two sisters, Edna Gorman and Vera Fallis. She was a member of Middlebrook Pike Baptist Church, which she joined in 1941, and where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Kent, Jim and Gregg (Cathey), and one daughter Gayle; her grandchildren: Greg, Ronnie (Denise), Sherri (Jeff), Scott (Beverly), Abigail (Nathan), Kevin (Samantha); her great-grandchildren: Nolan, Ashton, Cody, Allison, Finn, Morrigan, Rex, Lauren, Taylor (Cody), Joseph, and John Dewey; her great-great granddaughter Sophia. Her family was blessed to have such a loving, devoted, and caring mother and grandmother. She made this world a better place for all who knew her.
Her family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Atria Assisted Living and West Hills Rehabilitation Center who provided loving care to her.
Funeral Services will be 9:30 am Friday the 22nd of January at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee. Rev. Tony Brewer officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Dixon, Ronnie Dixon, Scott Dixon, Greg Alley, Nolan Dixon, Finn Dudley, Rex Alley, Joseph Robinson, and John Dewey Robinson.
