

Marwan “Mark” Said Mubarak, born on September 9, 1960, in Ramallah, Palestine, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2025. Marwan made his home in Knoxville, Tennessee where he built a life full of love and laughter.
Marwan was always happy, full of life, and truly fun to be around. His energy was infectious, and he could light up any room with his humor and warmth.
A proud entrepreneur, Marwan owned and operated The Time Out Deli, bringing not just great food but also friendship and a sense of community to Bowling Green, KY, Morristown, and Knoxville, TN. He had an incredible talent for making people smile, always ready with a joke or a kind word. Marwan also had unmatched generosity, literally giving other’s the shirt off his back.
Marwan is survived by his loving mother, Mariam Mubarak; his partner, Jola Zorawska; his children, Sean (Jerrica) Mubarak, Kenneth (Carson) Mubarak, Jason Mubarak, and Matthew Mubarak; his siblings, Murad (Kimberly) Mubarak, Muna (Salvatore) Vecchiuzzo, and Suzanne (Charlie) Saah; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Annabelle Mubarak, Isabella Hatfield, Lillian Mubarak, Madelyn Claire Mubarak, and Anna Kate Mubarak. He also leaves behind 12 beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Said Mubarak, and Annette Mubarak.
Marwan was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His infectious joy, kind heart, and unwavering generosity will forever be remembered. His spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched, and his memory will be cherished always.
A receiving of family and friends for Marwan will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with a Trisagion service to follow. A funeral service will be held at 11am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with a graveside service to follow at 1pm at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
