Mary Nelle (Adams) Schean

Her friends called her Nelle and her grand-children called her Nini. She was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church and faithfully did the Lord's work there for 51 years. She graduated from Farragut High School where she was on the girls basketball team. After high school, she went to Knoxville Business College. Mary Nelle worked for many different insurance companies through the years until she finally retired right before her 70th birthday.

Mary Nelle is survived by her daughter, Peggy Schean Williams; grandchildren, Tony Williams (Traci), Kara Belle and Milah Rae Williams, Amanda Williams Watson (Dennis), Christian and Darcey Watson, Adam Williams and Clayton Williams, Dallas Schean (Hannah) and Jack Elliott; sisters, Thelma Grace Hartzog and Emma Jean Weber and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Perry Andrew and Helen Julia Garber Adams, brothers William Paul and Robert Eugene Adams and sister Ruth Geneva Reed, son Jack Edward and husband of 63 years James Clayton Schean Jr and son-in-law David Ray Williams.

Mary Nelle will be greatly missed.

Receiving of friends will be held for Mary Nelle on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 6-8pm at Berry Highland Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 1pm at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery.
