Mary Ellen Townsend

Mary Ellen (Foister) Townsend went home to be with the Lord November 22, 2025. Preceded in death by husband, Alex Townsend; parents, Arthur & Katherine Foister; sisters: Irene Herrell, Sue Rogers; son, Alex J. Townsend; and granddaughter, Hannah Townsend.

Survived by children: Alex (Laurie) Townsend, Brian (Kim) Browning, Ike (Amy) Townsend, Angel Parrott, Katherine (Paul) Rhodes; siblings: Shirley Wolfenbarger, Rick Foister, David Foister, Pat Green and Bill Foister; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special great nephew, Emmit Foister.

Mary was a devoted Christian, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed seeing her church family and hearing the gospel. She looked forward to beach trips and spending time with family. She enjoyed camping and making homemade dinners for everyone.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, Rev. Jerry Crye officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 at Stock Creek Cemetery on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 for a 1:00 PM interment, Rev. Alex Townsend officiating.
