Pate, Matthew Travis, age 37, of Johnson City, formerly of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at his residence. Matt was preceded in death by brother, Josh Pate; grandparents, Alvin and Edith Cogdill, and Tinsley and Beulah Pate. Survivors include son, Ethan Matthew Pate of Corbin, Kentucky; parents, W.T. Pate, Jr. of Jonesborough, TN; Annette Cogdill Pate of Kingsport, TN; brother, W.T. “Tic” Pate III and wife Tarena of Louisville, KY; sister Whitney Pate of Jonesborough, TN; nieces and nephews: Caleb, Lyndsey, Zachary, and Caelan Pate; special friend, Lori Bish. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 11:00 AM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Minister Judd Bowers officiating. Interment will follow at Cate Cemetery. Pallbearers will be close family and friends.
