Mildred Ida Ward Hiscock, age 89, of the Island Home Park community in South Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of downtown Knoxville, where she served her church and cared for many, many children in the church nursery for 53 years. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Sarah Ward; husband, Wm. Hector Hiscock; and son, Gary Philip Hiscock. She is survived by her sons, William H. (Bill) Hiscock, II and wife, Judy; Chris Hiscock, and Kevin Hiscock; grandchildren, Wm. Todd Hiscock and wife Melissa; and Aaron Hiscock; great-grandchildren, Teagan and Dominick; brothers, John Ward and wife Barbara; Bob Ward; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway.
