

THOMPSON, MILDRED CHINA GOINS – September 20, 1924-July 26, 2013. Born in Flat Hollow, Tennessee in Campbell County. The family lived in Campbell County until 1935 when they moved to Kingston, Tennessee then moved to Knox County in the Ball Camp Community in 1937. Mildred was married to Lewis Anderson Thompson on April 15, 1949. She was called Mildred by some family and friends and China by other family and friends. She was a child of God and was very active in the churches she attended. She has been a member of Ball Camp Baptist Church, Ball Road Baptist Church and Family Life Worship Center. She attended Family Life Worship Center, The Sunday School hour and Cedar Bluff Baptist. Preceded in death by parents, Isom and Amanda Pierce Goins; husband, Lewis Anderson Thompson in 1974; Olis and Cecil Goins, Ovid and Helen Goins, J.P. and Cleo Schripsher, James and Charlotte Goins, Delmar and Vivian Goins, Gene Goins, Dewight and Margie Thomas. Survived by David and Martha Thompson, Mary Philips, Gene Philips, Bob and Kay Eversole, Greg and Linda Harrison, Floyd and Angie Thompson, 14 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and Noreen Goins; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Monday, July 29, 2013 at Ball Road Baptist church from 5:30 pm -7:30 pm with service to follow at 7:30 pm. Family and friends will meet 9:45 am Tuesday at Edgewood Cemetery for a 10:00 am interment. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Family Life Worship Center, 268 South Peters Rd.
