Nellie Boone

Boone, Nellie L., age 84, of Walland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, Walland. She was born in Monroe County, Alabama and graduated from Uriah High School in Uriah, Alabama. Nellie worked most of her life in Civil Service. From 1968 until her retirement she and her husband, Charles W. Boone, owned a general store in Megargel, Alabama, where she served as Postmaster. Preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Charles W. Boone; parents, Robert and Ada Lane; brothers, Leon C., Cecil, Burnett and Robert Lane; sisters, Myrtle Davis, Jewel Mims and Ossie Mae Farish. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lane Boone and Deborah; granddaughters and husbands, Michele and Paul Farris, Charity Boone and Robby Fugate; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson and Sam Farris, Harli Belle Fugate; brother, Billy Lane and wife, Mattie; and a number of close relatives. Service will be on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Webb officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will meet on Friday, August 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., for the Interment in Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel.
