

Patricia S. Loveday Freels, age 83, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. Patti was a 1959 graduate and Majorette of Young High School. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Nursing School in 1962 and retired after 38 years of service at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Patti was a loyal member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church where she was active in the children's ministry, AWANAS, Vacation Bible School, member of the Paul Pickens Sunday School Class and served as a care group leader.
She was an avid Vol fan traveling with her loving husband of 47 years, Tom as he escorted the University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band, throughout the 1980's until their last bowl trip in 2007.
Patti and Tommy made a happy home where Easters, Thanksgivings, New Years and Christmas' were always celebrated with to much great food and gifts for everyone. Wrapping paper and boxes would be everywhere but not for long because Patti's house always had to be neat, clean and spotless. She was most proud of the home that she and Tommy made, and all the love and memories that her family has shared there.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tom Freels; daughter, Ellen Rogers; parents, Henry Clay Loveday, Jr. and Peggie King Loveday; sister, Connie Smith; brother, Vernon Clay "Petey" Loveday; grandson, Thomas Ryan Smith.
She is survived by daughters, Paige (Eric) Bonner, Shannon (Rob) Edwards; Carol (Jim) Smith, Dawn Freels, Son-in-law, Richard Rogers and several nieces and nephews.
Patti was a loving Mimi to Logan (Kelsey) Smith, Braden (Hannah) Smith, Noah (Amanda) Rogers, Gabe Rogers, Reilly Bonner, Reagan Bonner, Ronnie (Alexandria) Edwards, Andrew Edwards, Randon Edwards, Reece Edwards; great grandchildren, Lola and Layla Edwards, Elise and Hallie Cate Smith, Barrett and Lyla Smith and Khoen Edwards.
The family will receive friends 11-1 PM Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Sevier Heights Baptist Church Main Campus, 3140 Maloney Road, Knoxville, TN with a Celebration of Life Service at 1 PM officiated by son-in-law and Minister Eric Bonner. Following the service family and friends will meet at 3 PM at Greenwood Cemetery for Graveside Services.
