Patricia Debra "Debbie" Large, age 70, of Strawberry Plains, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Debbie retired from Food City after 36 years of loyal service in the Loss Prevention Department.
Preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Mathis and Pearl Crowe Mathis.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 46 years, James Darrell Large; stepson, Terry Large (Vicki); step-grandchildren, Chris Large and Lauren Large; step great-grandchildren, Savannah and Elyssa Large; sisters, Diane Harden and Vicki Denton; brother, Jimmy Mathis; uncle, Paul Mathis (Margaret); brothers-in-law, Joe Large, David Large (Trish); nieces, Nancy Pearsall, Alyssa Large and Bobbie Rhines; and nephew, Michael Large.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home, 7426 Asheville Hwy, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM, with Rev. Larry Dial and Rev. Reggie Large officiating. Pianist: Alyssa Large. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM at Eastview Memorial Gardens on Thursday, August 28, 2025 for an 11:00 AM graveside service. Pallbearers: David Large, Michael Large, Mark Large, Donny Griffey, Danny Griffey, and Tim Oglesby.
