Phillip George Burroughs, 59, departed this life on January 4, 2011, after a lengthy stay at Mercy West Hospital. Phillip was the youngest son of the late George and China Burroughs, both of Knoxville. Phillip was a carpenter, welder and computer technician. Phillip George Burroughs is survived by his sisters Anita Vandevate of Knoxville, Judy Burroughs of Knoxville and Shirley Wilson of Seymour, Tennessee, and brothers Bill Burroughs of Newport News, Virginia, Edward Burroughs of Knoxville and Paul Burroughs of Knoxville. Visitation will be held at 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home at 7426 Asheville Highway. The funeral service will follow. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9th, at Caledonia Church Cemetery on Ruggles Ferry Pike. Minister Bill Bryant will officiate.
