Knoxville - Phyllis Kay Marks, 85, on May 3, 2022, entered peacefully into her Heavenly Father's arms and was made whole again while surrounded by her family at Northshore Heights Senior Living in Knoxville. Phyllis was a faithful member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church. There she once served as President of Women of the Church, participated in Joy Fellowship with senior adults, and was a Stephen Minister. Phyllis loved to travel with friends and family whenever and wherever. As a career, she was a successful trader with many booths in antique malls. Phyllis attended the University of Tennessee and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She served on many boards including The Florence Crittenton Agency Home for Girls, which was dear to her heart. Phyllis and her husband, Bill, were staunch supporters of The Italian Market and Grill, Baker Peters Jazz Club, and the Tennessee Grill, in which their son, Barry, was a co-founder. However, above all, Phyllis was a loyal and loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William (Bill) L. Marks; her son, Barry Loy Marks; infant children, George Benny Marks and Dorothy Ann Marks; sister, Charlotte Lethco Jones; brother, David Lethco; nephew, Kevin Jones; and parents, George and Anna Lethco. Phyllis is survived by grandchildren, Margaret Ruth (Maggie) Marks, Kaylee Ann Marks Williams (Cody), and their mother, Julie Marks Stover (Forrest); Brennen Marks Jensen and mother, Amanda Jensen (Brian); Bradlee Kay Marks Goodman (Justin) and mother, Natasha Nichols; great-grandchildren Beckham Williams, and Hudsynn and Hunter Goodman; devoted niece, Deborah Ann Jones; treasured sisters-in-law, Marlyn Marks Turner (Jeff); Martha and Kenton Page; Barbara Marks and Rosalie Marks; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and dear friends, who meant so very much to her. A very heartfelt thanks to Kristin, Shanon, and the dedicated and caring staff at Northshore Heights and University of Tennessee Hospice for their exceptional treatment and care. A celebration of the life of Phyllis Marks will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, with receiving of friends-reception to follow. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Shiloh Cemetery in Pigeon forge.
