Rachel Anne Moore

Moore, Rachel Wood age 67 of Knoxville passed away at home on Saturday, March 12, 2011. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville for over 35 years where she taught 1st grade choir, also she was a member of Hall/ Reed Sunday School Class. She taught music in the Knox County School System for many years until the birth of her daughter Beth. In 1990 she began a new career at Maryville College where she was a alumna as secretary to the Social Science department and finally as secretary to the Chaplain in the Center of Campus Ministry. She retired in 2005. Preceded in death by parents; George and Anna Wood. Survived by husband of 35 years Jim Moore; daughter, Elizabeth Moore Anderson and husband, Nathan; brother and sister in law, George and Betty Wood; granddaughters, Josephine, Ada and Suzannah Anderson; brother in law, Terry Moore; niece, Katy Wood; nephew, Geoffrey Wood. Special friends, Charlotte Shea, Martha Hess and the Cracked Pots. A Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 510 West Main Street, Knoxville, TN with Rev. Ann McKee and Dr. William Shiell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM prior to the service.
