Raymond Alonzo Casteel

Raymond Alonzo Casteel, age 93 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Maryville, TN. He was a member of Ball Rd. Baptist Church and also attended Parkwest Church. He was a member of Bright Hope Lodge 557 F&A.M. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a Draftsman with TVA after 33 years of service. Raymond was a loving Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather. He loved his family and making music with his accordion, bass guitar and keyboard and would share his talent in local nursing homes when able. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Cecil Casteel; brothers, Bill and Bernard Casteel; sister, Imogene Murrah. Survived by his son, Daryl Casteel and wife Becca; daughter, Sandra Henegar and husband Larry of Greenback, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Casteel and wife Beverly; sister, Edna Nagel and husband Joel, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to U.T. Hospice and his extended family at Brookdale Assisted Living. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Weaver Funeral Home with service to follow. Family and friends will meet 9:15 am Friday at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway for a 9:30 am interment.
