

Robert "Bob" Mitchell Kennedy, age 82 of Knoxville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Bob was the proud owner of Kennedy Signs and Graphics. He has been in the sign industry as a commercial artist for over 60 years, and is well known over the region for his art and gym graphics. He attended Holston High School and went on to graduate from The University of Tennessee with his bachelor's degree. Bob was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War era. He was a longtime member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
His greatest joy was sharing his love of the outdoors with family and friends, creating lasting memories through camping trips, fishing adventures, and his enthusiasm for antique automobiles. Even in retirement, he took pleasure in traveling to see his legacy living on through the signs and banners he had designed, each one holding special memories.
Preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Kathleen (Kennedy) and Clyde Wright; brother, Larry Kennedy; as well as other loving family members.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Claudia Hobby Kennedy; son, Lance Kennedy (Krystal); grandson, Lane Kennedy; granddaughter, Kali Kennedy; brother, Allen Kennedy (Linda); brothers-in-law, Harold Hobby and Donnie Hobby (Diana); as well as several nieces, nephews, and special family and friends.
Family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and staff at UT Medical Center and Cancer Institute /UT Hospice for their care during this time.
Family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2024 at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM for a 2:00 PM committal service Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway.
