Robert Carl “Bob” Storm, Child of God, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather departed to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 14, 2021. At the age of 88, his health had been in decline following a stroke in October 2020. His father, mother, sister, and brother preceded Bob in death. He will continue to be loved and cherished by his wife of 65 years, three daughters, one son, their spouses, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a multitude of family and friends.
Robert truly loved the lord, and lived out his life through the scriptures. He served our country a short period in the Navy, then further in our nation’s Air Force. He graduated from Concordia Teachers College first with Bachelors in Education, then later a Masters in Divinity. Bob loved music, sports, all things UT (University of Tennessee) and playing golf. The lord called him to share his talents as a young man singing with the Concordia A cappella Choir, vocationally as a parochial Lutheran school teacher, and later a financial and estate planner until retirement. Robert received many business awards. He received Hall of Fame award for State of TN Fraternal Insurance Councilors, and served as President of Local, State & National FICs. Throughout his life he was committed to bible study, singing in church choir and serving others. He was one of the pioneering forces behind the Patricia Neal Golf Classic, volunteered regularly to prepare and feed those seeking meals at KARM, delivered for Meals on Wheels and was a founding member of Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed meeting monthly for a veteran’s coffee hour. Bob always had a broad smile, deep appreciation for humor, was socially conscious and carried an agape love to all those he encountered. He loved to chat and never met a stranger.
Memorial donations may be made to: KARM [Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries]; Peace Lutheran Church, the Concordia A cappella choir, or Open Arms Care Foundation in Ooltewah, TN.
A private family service will be held at graveside for internment. Notification for the memorial service and celebration of life will be published at a later date.
