

Roy Cain Hutchens, 69, passed away suddenly on May 28th, 2016. He believed in the New Testament of Jesus Christ’s teachings. He graduated in 1965 from Carter High School where he played football. He was a very talented athlete and business man, Roy started working in the insurance business in his early 20’s for Independent Life Insurance and Allstate. At the age of 28, he successfully started Hutchens and Hutchens Insurers in Knoxville. He started working in real estate in 1977 and became a licensed broker in 1978. He mentored several real estate agents during his career. Roy successfully started RC Hutchens Realty Inc. with offices in Knoxville and Chattanooga. He was well respected in the business community by both sellers and buyers. Roy had many intellectual interests that included an in-depth knowledge of history and the ability to art, drawings, music, and much more. Roy was a wonderful friend to many and a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Preceded in death by his father, Roy Cain, sister, Evelyn Ann Cain, brother Gary Cain, Father James Hutchens, mother Irene Hutchens, and stepdaughter, Libby Cagle Lowe. Roy is survived by his companion and friend, Anne Cagle, son, Roy S. (Elaine) Hutchens, grandchildren, Colby Hutchens, Ben and Sarah Fraker, one sister and three brothers, several nieces and nephews, and one stepdaughter, Stacey Fraker. The family will be receiving friends and family on Friday, June 3rd 5-7 pm at Berry Highland Memorial. The funeral service will follow at 7 pm. The entombment will take place at Berry Highland Memorial cemetery on Saturday, June 4th at 11 am.
